A Category 5e structured cable network is the most popular system used in new installations. Capable of handling Gigabit Ethernet to a distance of 100 metres together with the flexibility offered by patching any computer or telephone can be relocated to any part of the building without the need for expensive rewiring.

A typical installation will comprise of a communications cabinet housing all network patch panels and active equipment, a twin outlet at each work station and interlinking cable runs.

All outlets are presented as RJ45 with the use of line adaptors telephones are connected to these outlets.

All installed or relocated outlets are full tested to the relevant standards using Fluke DSP 4000 series test equipment. Test results are issued as part of the site documentation and are available in both printed and electronic format.

 Wire map, Cable length, Attenuation, Near End Cross Talk (NEXT), Power Sum NEXT, ACR, Power Sum ACR, Equal Level Far End Cross Talk (ELFEXT) and Power Sum ELFEXT
